Voice ID uses your voice to confirm your identity when you call Customer Care. Just like your fingerprint, your voice is uniquely yours and can’t be stolen.
It decreases potential for fraud and improves your experience by focusing on the reason you called, rather than spending time verifying your identity with lengthy security questions.
You can enroll in Voice ID the next time you call Customer Care. Once enrolled, the system will verify your voice whenever you call. Through natural conversation Voice ID will verify your voice by comparing it to the voiceprint associated with you, signaling a match.
Can the Voice ID system be fooled?
Your voice is as unique as you are! When capturing your voiceprint, there are more than 100 unique physical and behavioral characteristics that are measured, including the length of the vocal tract, nasal passage, cadence, and pronunciation. Even professional voice impersonators haven’t been able to hack the system! To the human ear, their impersonation may sound like a match. But the technology is so sophisticated it can detect the difference.
If you’re wondering if a recording of your voice could be played back to a system, the short answer is no. There are several measures in place to ensure that a system cannot be breached by a recorded playback of a person’s voice. The Voice ID technology is able to quickly flag whether the spoken voice coming into the system is recorded or live, or whether speakers have changed.
Amazingly enough, the technology can even identify you when you have a cold or if there is background noise.
Voice ID is just one more way Kennebunk Savings is keeping your bank information safe.
