YORK, Maine — Habitat for Humanity York County recently announced the recipients of the 2024 Miles Freeman Awards for Service, an honor named after the organization’s founder.

The award recognizes donors, volunteers, and partners who exemplify Freeman’s dedication to providing safe and affordable housing for York County families. This year, Habitat for Humanity honored three partners with the Miles Freeman Award: the City of Sanford, Kennebunk Savings, and Beth Doty.

Kennebunk Savings was honored for its continuous partnership and support of Habitat’s mission. The organization regularly sends volunteer teams to Habitat build sites and the ReStore, with staff members serving on committees and the board of directors. Kennebunk Savings has contributed over $150,000 in support of Habitat’s mission.

The awards were presented at Habitat for Humanity York County’s Annual Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation event on Oct. 25.

Habitat for Humanity encourages community members to get involved through various volunteer opportunities, including joining the ReStore team, helping with special events, joining a committee, or assisting with builds.
