What guides us
The values we embrace every day
Featured Value: Proactive
Every few months we’ll feature one of our core values as defined by the people who live them every day, our employees.
Learn about ways you can get involved as an employee at Kennebunk Savings!
We love to see our employees go above and beyond their defined role at the bank! If you want to work on projects that directly impact our Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Values and Engagement, or Wellness goals, consider applying to join one of our committees. Being on a committee also allows you to meet and collaborate with people who work in other departments, giving you a better appreciation of the organization as a whole.
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council at Kennebunk Savings was created to bring cultural awareness through training and action. Whether it’s through supporting our nonprofit partners with volunteers or event sponsorships or educating our employees to be more acknowledging, embracing, supporting, and accepting towards a more equitable future of work. We want to celebrate all that makes us unique!
Since the DEI Council’s inception, the council has also expanded and created additional employee resource groups (ERG), with the plan to create many more! ERG’s are a way for our employees who have something in common to help each other grow professionally and be supported. Two of our first and active ERG’s are the Women’s Collective and PRIDE-both employee led groups! What ERG would you want to be a part of?
Like to be involved? The Values and Engagement Committee’s goal is to promote and support a healthy, active and engaged employee culture. This group of employees play a role in helping with onsite employee events and activities, providing feedback about various topics to internal stakeholders/departments and brainstorming and executing programs like our internal recognition program, something we continue to evolve thanks to our engaged employees!
The Values and Engagement Committee is centered on our four core company values. Pictured below, employees from the V&E team help prepare company gifts behind the scenes!
The Wellness Committee at Kennebunk Savings focuses on bringing awareness to not just physical wellness but mental, fiscal, diet and social wellness. This group is led by our onsite Wellness Coach and creates as well as organizes company-wide wellness challenges as well lunch and learns on different wellness topics.
In 2024, we received the Wellness Workdays Gold Certification, naming us a “Best Wellness Employer!” The award, presented by Wellness Workdays, our wellness partner, recognizes our thoughtful and comprehensive strategy to engage and celebrate employee wellness successes!
Our Wellness Coach is available at no cost to meet with all employees (if they choose) to learn about and help them with their health goals? It’s just one of the many of our favorite benefits.
Leadership opportunities at Kennebunk Savings
Launched in 2019, the Kennebunk Savings Leadership Academy is a concentrated, defined effort by the Bank to develop future leaders for all levels of the institution.
Kennebunk Savings offers two separate, two-year programs (Emerging and Advancing Leaders) for those selected to the Leadership Academy, but it is not the only path to leadership roles, training and experience here at the bank! We continue to expand our internal training programs and always keep an eye out for outside opportunities.
There are many reasons why I love working for Kennebunk Savings, but if I had to pick just one I would say I’m proud to work for a company that celebrates and promotes diversity and allows us all to be our true selves. Carlos Maldonado VP, Retail Experience Manager, Hampton
We are a Recovery Friendly Workplace
Kennebunk Savings is proud to be a designated Recovery Friendly Workplace. Recovery Friendly Workplaces encourage a safe and healthy environment where employees, employers and communities foster a supportive culture that recognizes recovery from substance use disorder as a strength.
Our Community Promise defines us
Every year, we pledge to give 10% of our annual earnings to the local nonprofits committed to helping the people and social causes that need the most help. Since 1994, we’ve invested more than $14 million in our nonprofit partners. We encourage our employees to volunteer at their favorite charitable organizations and we even provide paid time off for them to do so!
