During the holiday season, scams become more prevalent. The most recent scam we’re hearing about in our area involves checks stolen from outdoor Post Office mailboxes—thieves have a device that allows them to grab mail from inside the mailbox. They then alter checks to be payable to fraudsters. Protect yourself! Whenever possible, use Online Banking and Bill Pay to pay your bills or drop off your outgoing mail INSIDE the post office.
